Shuttleworth & ARCO Unveil Checkweighing and Correcting Solutions for the Soft Fruits and Mushrooms Market

HUNTINGTON, IN,May 15, 2024 – Shuttleworth, a global leader in material handling automation solutions, is thrilled to announce a strategic partnership with ARCO Solutions, a pioneer in process control technologies. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the evolution of material handling and weight inspection systems, combining Shuttleworth's expertise in gentle handling conveyor systems with ARCO checkweighing solutions.
The partnership delivers unparalleled efficiency and accuracy in product handling, weighing, and inspection processes for the soft fruit and mushroom industries. By integrating ARCO checkweigher's advanced weighing and inspection technologies with Shuttleworth's innovative Slip-Torque® conveyor systems, Shuttleworth and ARCO are announcing the availability of the ARCO Weighmaster product line for the North American market.
The Shuttleworth ARCO Weighmaster will have two configurations, the Weighmaster-MC (medium capacity) and Weighmaster-HC (high capacity). Each cellular solution features an initial checkweigher, a 1 to 2 or 1 to 3 laner, product weigh correction zone manually corrected by the operator, merger, and final checkweigher. Accommodating unit recipes from 1.76 to 35 ounces (49-1000 grams), the single operator check weighing solution allows packaging facilities to process 60-100 units per minute.
Key highlights of the ARCO Weighmaster product line include:
- Less Loss Due to Overweight: On each weighing belt the machine indicates the amount of underweight or overweight of a punnet by a LED indicator.
- Less Human Errors: The operator sees at a glance, whether a large or small product needs to be removed or added to reach desired weight.
- Faster Throughput: As soon as a punnet contains the correct weight, the punnet is automatically transported towards the next station in the packaging line.
- Low Investment: Already competitively priced, the PM2020 solutions achieve faster ROI with the use of a single operator and less loss due to overweight punnets.
